Obituary of Timothy C. Lovelady

Timothy C. Lovelady, 71, King of the Crossword Puzzle, Master of the Art of Respiratory Therapy, Lover of Bad Jokes, and Daddo of the Lovelady Family has gone to his glory to be with his Divine Trinity.

He was born in the auto megalopolis of Toledo, Ohio, and from a young age his adroit mind and physical might set him to a life of mental rigor and determined work ethic. He loved to traverse the country, visiting many glorious American landscapes.  In his years of matriculation, he enjoyed scuba and skydiving, piloting, motorcycles, and boating.

He graduated from Marmion Military Academy, John Carroll University, and the University of South Florida to enter into a life of service as a Respiratory Therapist and Transport Team Member at All Children's Hospital.

There, he met the love of his life Debbie, while working nightshift in the NICU.  He built his life saving the lives of our community while raising four children. For 34 years, he walked the halls of All Children's known as 'The Master.'

From surgeons, to nurses, to the custodial staff, all looked to his professional wisdom and calming smile. His patience was legendary, as he created an individualized breathing plan for a child with CF or schooled novice doctors on intubating techniques. His knowledge knew no limits, his care for every person infectious, his dedication unwavering to every family in their time of need.

In his retirement years, his primary focus has been spoiling with love his 5 grandchildren (Mateo, Addi, Diego, Amelie, and Alex), and wearing his pants way up above his belly button. He did the Tampa Bay Times puzzle section in pen, completing this in less than an hour every day, always getting 7 down and 3 across. He traveled the world from Bangkok to Zurich, sharing adventures with his family along the way.

But his passions always led him home: to be the decorator of every party, the empathetic ear to his kids, and the biggest fan in all his grandbaby's performances. His loss will never be assuaged, but his legacy is forged in the hearts of all who had the benefit of riding wide in his universe.

He leaves behind his wife Debbie, his sister Karen Liebnau (John), sons Chrisopher (Daryan Chan), Jeremy, Nicholas (Ede), daughter Lindsay Arenas (Alejandro), sisters-in-law Cheryl Stewart, Terry Renninger, brother-in-law Kevin Bruington (Cindy), his 5 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. Services will be held at St. Raphael Catholic Church on Saturday, June 12th at 11AM with visitation beginning one hour prior.
