Obituary of Shirley Mureen Moore

Moore, Shirley Mureen “Mimi”, 83, passed away June 7, 2018 at Westminster Suncoast.

She was born in St. Petersburg and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where she graduated from the University of Cincinnati. She came back to St. Petersburg in 1963 to help her husband start the practice of medicine.  Beyond being a fabulous mother to three children, she was an avid tarpon fisherman.  She caught several tarpon that easily outweighed her.  She loved cooking and baking.  Her famous pound cake was always looked forward to at Christmas.  She was a devoted wife and mother.  She loved babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was active in and supported the Suncoast Tarpon Roundup, Pasadena Little League, and the Shorecrest Boosters.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Carl L. Moore, M.D. and her parents Stanley and Ruth Foster and stepmother Ree Foster. Mureen is survived by siblings Stanley Foster, Dayton, OH, and Robert Foster, Ft. Myers, FL; her daughter Judy M. Brakke, St. Petersburg, sons Scot E., Orlando, FL, and Steven W., St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren Melissa Brakke Jones, Andrea Brakke, Olivia Moore Gregorian, Rachael Brakke, Alexandra Moore, Neil Moore, and Alan Moore; great granddaughters Morgan and Madison Wilson and Jenna Jones; Her kind and loving spirit will always be remembered. Mureen’s memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Anderson McQueen Northeast Chapel beginning at 11 am with the service at 12 pm. “You were sent from up above. To shower us with lots of love. We feel so lucky that you were here. We will always love you far or near!”.
