Hi Folks!
“Uncle” Fred, my dearest godfather, I’m sorry that I haven’t mustered up the courage to look for your tribute page. I miss you every day. The tragedy to me when you passed on was that I could not remember all the stories and anecdotes you shared with me. I am afraid you took some to your grave, because my Dad passed first, and they were stories only you, he and I shared. Goodbye my dearest godfather. I’m blessed to be able to call you my friend.

My heart goes out to Frederick's family and friends during this sad and difficult time. Please find comfort from Isaiah 33:24 - And no resident will say: “I am sick.” God never intended mankind to get sick, grow old or die. Rev 21:3,4 promise: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” 1 Corinthians 15:26: "And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing." One of the greatest earthly demonstrations of Jehovah’s marvelous kindness will be the resurrection of humans from “the Grave.” (John 5:28:29) “All those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out!” Doesn’t this fill your heart with hope? Imagine that! One day, your loved one will be brought back to life. Warmest regards.

My heart is filled with gratitude for having met my friend Fred. I looked forward to our daily, 1 hour sunset swims where Fred and I enjoyed sharing conversation about subjects close to our hearts; family, dear friends, group organizations, travel, hobbies, restaurants, speech pathology, stuttering, and politics. We did miss an occasional swim when Fred faithfully planned to attend one of his many important groups, which he spoke of with great pride. Our last swim together was Monday January 14th. I’m very grateful for meeting Fred and I will miss him. Fred was a ray of sunshine. He made a difference. My sincere condolences to Fred’s family and dear friends.

Dr. Murray (Fred) was a dear friend, mentor and community partner. He dedicated his life to helping people who stutter through service, outreach and education. The Tampa chapter of the National Stuttering Association will miss his presence at monthly meetings. I will miss his presence at outreach events, clinic programs, and in my graduate course on stuttering at the University of South Florida, where he guest-lectured to speech pathology students well into his 90's. Fred's friends and admirers around the world will miss but never forget him.
