Marilyn Schaberg

Obituary of Marilyn B. Schaberg

Marilyn "Lynn" Allen Schaberg, 90 of Saint Petersburg, Florida died peacefully with loved ones at her side on January 24, 2019, at Saint Anthonys Hospital. Born in Belding, Michigan Lynn graduated from American University in Washington, DC, and became a model in New York for Bonwit Teller, and graced many covers of fashion magazines.  Lynn married John G Schaberg in 1952 where they quickly moved to South East Asia and to new adventures in the Orient. John was the General Manager of Caltex Oil Corporation in Bangkok, Thailand, as well as the President of the Chamber of Commerce. With Lynn by his side, John was tasked with receiving dignitaries from around the world, including President Johnson and the Kennedy family.  Lynn's grace, beauty, and quick wit made her a standout and loved by everyone she came in contact with. John and Lynn raised 2 sons and a daughter in Thailand and the Philippines before moving back to the United States.  Later in life, she never lost her sense of humor and could brighten any moment. She had countless friends and her life experiences were unique for the time that she had lived. If you had the chance to hear one of her stories and experience the world through her eyes it was truly a blessing. She was preceded in death by her parents Wallace and Mildred Allen, her brother James Allen on D-Day, husband John G Schaberg and grandson Forest "Kip" Schaberg.

Lynn is survived by her children Ronald and wife Kathleen Schaberg, Gary and wife Ann Schaberg and Sandra Schaberg.  A very special thank you to her beloved daughter Sandra Schaberg for many years of Lynn's attentive care. Sandra was able to provide professional support while allowing Lynn to enjoy her golden years. Lynn is also survived by her grandchildren Kameron and wife Shana Schaberg, Taylor, Paige, Piper, Jonny, and Heather Schaberg and her great-grandchildren Imogen, Roisen, Anwen, and Harrison Schaberg.  In lieu of flowers please send donations to your local SPCA.

A life celebration for Lynn will be Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 3:00 pm. May she rest in peace.
