I am sorry for your loss. Loss is especially difficult when it is brought on by illness. The Bible promises that in the future “no resident will say I am sick.” (Isaiah 33:24) At that time, those who have fallen asleep in death, no matter the reason, will be brought back to life. No sickness is too difficult for God to cure, and no death to final for him to reverse. “There is going to be a resurrection”, those who have fallen asleep in death will be restored to life and health, and have the prospect of living forever in paradise on earth. (Acts 24:15; Mark 5:22-23, 35-43)

My condolences to the family on the loss of your loved one. Losing someone you love is truly difficult and I know Shelby will be missed. Please know our Heavenly Father holds out promises that can help us with our sorrow. One such promise is that death soon will be done away with forever (Revelation 21:4) and another promise is that "there is going to be a resurrection." (Acts 24:15). I pray these promises from God, who cannot lie, (Titus 1:2) brings you comfort. For more comfort from the Bible visit www . jw . org.

I’m sorry for your loss and I wanted to send my heartfelt condolences. I look forward to the promise of a future, earthly resurrection. (John 5:28,29; Isaiah 26:19) We have the opportunity to see our loved ones again under the peaceful conditions described at Psalms 37:10,11 where there will be no more suffering or death. (Revelation 21:3,4) I hope these scriptures bring you some comfort during this difficult time.

Our hearts break for the Hilton family. We did not know Shelby personally, but have known the Hilton family for many years and consider Hank a dear friend. Shelby was a fighter and such a point of pride for her parents. She now has eternal peace and happiness in the house of our blessed Lord. God bless you all.

Hank and Donna, when parents lose a son or daugther the pain, the grief, and feelings of helplessness can seem unbearable. Our Grand creator, father of tender mercies, lovingly provided his word the Bible to provide you comfort in this case. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) God hates death so much that death is called “the last enemy” and will “be brought to nothing.” (1 Corinthians 15:26) God promises that the dead will live again. (Isaiah 26:19) Doesn’t this fill your heart with hope? “All those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out!” (John 5:28, 29) One of the greatest earthly demonstrations of Jehovah’s marvelous kindnesses will be the resurrection of humans from “the Grave.” Imagine that! One day, Shelby will be brought back to life on earth. So while you grieve now for your beloved daughter, allow God’s word to comfort and stregthen you while you eagerly await the day you can see Shelby again. The best is yet to come!

To: Hank, Donna, and Henry Hilton as well as your extended family and friends
My sincerest condolences to each of you. I won't be with you physically today, but my heart is full and my thoughts conflicted. On the one hand, I'm saddened at your, and our, loss; but on the other, happy that Shelby is, at last, pain-free and at peace.
I was mentally recounting my many electronic interactions with Shelby over the last four years and remembered that out of all of them there were only a few times that her messages to me seemed to be transmitting discouragement. But upon immediate reflection, I deduced that they were more expressions of frustration at not being able to achieve normality. She just would not surrender.
I continue to be inspired by her stoicism and bravery. She was another one of those young miracles we call gymnasts: Focused, dedicated, and unafraid. And she loved puppy-dogs as much as I do.
I harbor several regrets in my life; not being able to give her a hug is one of them.
Shelby was a bright light for me and many. Her struggle served to remind me of the strong and brave men and women I've been privileged to have known in my lifetime. She joins them and becomes a distinguished member of a group of very special souls.
Spiritually with you and trusting that we will someday meet, I remain your friend,
Philippe G. Bernard.

I am devastated to hear of Shelby's passing and send my sincere sympathy to her parents, brother, family, and closest friends. I was one of her teachers at St. Pete High and am so saddened that such a beautiful, talented young lady is no longer with us. I taught so many students during my 40 year career, but Shelby was one who was unforgettable. God be with you.
