Obituary of James Marlyn McDorman, Jr.

McDorman, James Marlyn  Jr., 92, of Clearwater Florida, passed away on December 6th, 2020 at Palm Garden of Clearwater. He was born in Xenia, Ohio on November 24th, 1928. He graduated from London Ohio High School, went to Wilmington College, where he played basketball. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary (Barnes) McDorman, his parents James Marlyn and Martha Bryson McDorman, his brother Robert McDorman and his in-laws George and Della Barnes. He is survived by his sister Suzanne Reffit, his children Jeff (Sandy) McDorman, Jon (Jacki) McDorman, Alan McDorman, and Diann Gaskins, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

James was a service manager at J.I.Case, Big Bud Mining, Versatile Farm Equipment and AutoZone, retiring when he was in his seventies. Over his lifetime he lived in Ohio, Montana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Winnipeg, Georgia, and Florida. He owned and flew his own airplane and was a member of AOPA. He also volunteered for the Sun City Florida Fire Department.  He liked to play poker on his computer and watch it on TV. He also loved watching NCAA and NBA basketball on TV. He could fix anything. He was an all-around good guy and loved his family very much.
