Obituary of Regina Milano McRobert

McRobert, Regina Milano "Gina", 66, passed away at Suncoast Hospice St Petersburg, November 14, 2021. Gina is survived by her husband of 40 years, Richard; son, Kurt (partner, Brittany Bartley); siblings, Paul Milano, Mike (Connie), Rick, Patricia (Rob) Kelleher. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Paul (2013). Gina was born in Rockville Centre, NY April 24, 1955, and graduated from Oceanside High School and Oswego College. Serendipity brought Gina and Dick together in 1978, and they were married at St Agnes Cathedral in 1981. They saw many concerts and plays together, and chose "One Hand, One Heart" after seeing West Side Story on Broadway, as their wedding and life song. They moved to St Petersburg in 1985, and began teaching careers, Gina at Fitzgerald Middle School until going to John Hopkins Middle School, where her boys both went. She was Pinellas County Social Studies Teacher of the year 2010-11. When she was downtown, former students loved to stop and talk. She loved American history, and was always reading. Gina was thoroughly Italian, and her meatballs and Christmas lasagna were sublime. It was a wonderful life, nurturing her family in the old 1920's house, that rang with the sound of her beautiful Joni Mitchell impression, "I wish I had a river I could skate away on". Gina will be loved, as she always vowed to love, "Forever and ever".
