Obituary of Betty Jean Mullins

ST PETERSBURG, FL – Betty J. Mullins, 91, died unexpectedly July 25, 2022, at St. Petersburg General Hospital from Cardiac Arrest. She was born November 25, 1930 in San Diego, CA, the only child of Willis B. and Annette Julianna (Arick) Dickinson.  She was a first-born American citizen.

 

She attended Peninsula College receiving a 2-year Associate of Arts degree.

 

She was a stay-at-home Mom. She worked at Fort Richardson, AK, and also for Sea World in Florida. She had been a resident at Bayside Terrace Assisted Living in Pinellas Park where she was dubbed the welcome committee by staff members. She also enjoyed reading, watching musicals, doing stain glass projects and raising springer spaniels.

 

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her stepson Mervin E. Mullins Jr.  Surviving is her daughter Julia (Mullins) Patterson and her husband Thomas of Bremerton WA; her son Thomas Mullins and his wife Sally of Bothell, WA; and her daughter Victoria (Mullins) Zook and her husband James Zook of St. Petersburg FL; 5 grandchildren, Lisa and Thomas Patterson, Samuel and Sarabeth Mullins and Daniel Zook; 7 great grandchildren, Thomas, Katelyn, Sydney and Zachary Patterson; Garrett and Sarah Strayer and Michaela Van Westerhuyzen.

 

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to one of the following organizations - Your local No-Kill Animal Shelter, The Wounded Warrior Project, or St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital.
