June 1942 - April 2023

 

Larry was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, and moved down here when he was a sophomore in  high school. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Kathryn Lynch, his brother, Michael Lynch, and his sisters, Theresa Lynch and Patricia Aileen Moran, and most recently, his nephew, John Moran. 

He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Margaret M. Lynch, his daughter, Katherine M. Lynch, son, Lawrence M. Lynch, grandson, Lawrence M. Lynch, Jr, and 3 great granchidlren, Heidi, Emily, and Luke Lynch. He is also survived by his nephews, David Lynch, Mark Moran, Matthew Moran, and niece, Andrea Gorden.

Larry was a member of the Central Gulf Coast Archaeological Society, and the St. Petersburg Elks Lodge 1224. He was also a member of St.Jude's Cathedral. In the past he was a member of the Suncoast Runners Club, as he was an avid runner for many years,competing in many area races.  For several years he walked in the annual March of Dimes Walk America, and in 1985 he took 2nd place locally for the amount of contributions he collected. He loved visiting the National Parks, hiking trails, and climbing mountains with his family with him all the way!

Larry was employed by Honeywell, Inc. in Clearwater,FL from 1967 to 1995. He was a metal finisher, heat treater, and special process group leader.He was a part of Honeywell Avionics, and has parts on the moon. In 1995 he joined the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office where he was a deputy for 12 years. 

Larry graduated from Bishop Barry High School, which is the present St. Petersburg Catholic, and has an Associate of Arts degree from St. Petersburg College. He also attended the UnIversity of South Florida and completed one year of Geology curriculum.

Larry served in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years, and is a decorated US Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran. While in the Marine Corps he was stationed at Camp LeJeune, NC, DaNang, South Vietnam, Okinawa, and Quantico, VA.
