An amazing and totally professional pilot and leader. My first flight out of flight school was with Phil -- always called him "Dad" not for the silver fox hair, but rather how he took care of me, mentoring and teaching me how to be the best pilot, leader and person! So many incredible aviation stories and much more such as: being the only aviators and flight crew on a deserted island, Kahoolawe and making beer runs to Maui -- to many flights together - to stories of Vietnam - to being hunkered down with Phil and Savilla during Hurricane Elaine when we visited them, to smoking cigars in Ybor city a few years ago with our wives not so happy! Phil's great legacy lives on through so many lives he touched.

Phil was an amazing person, a patient and wise man. Savilla and I would go on Girl Trips and Phil was so sweet, telling us girls to have fun! Savilla would always bring the Cookie Monster back chocolate chip cookies. I will dearly miss Phil, as I miss Savilla! What beautiful souls!

Phil had a warm smile, easily engaged in conversation and quiet demeanor when he was out and about at Mariners Pass. He will be missed.
