Flor Cole Armas

Obituary of Flor Alejandrina Cole Armas

Flor Alejandrina Cole Armas was born February 8, 1965, in Trujillo, Peru, and passed January 30, 2024, in her home among family and friends in St. Petersburg, FL. Flor was a fierce, loving, and beautiful mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Flor, like her collection of 1500-piece puzzles, was very complex; to describe her is difficult, but when put all together she was simply a person who loved, and cared deeply, about the people in her life.  She had an adventurous spirit and a passion for her interests.

She loved to travel, challenge herself with new experiences, listen to music, dance, and go to the movies. She loved listening to an eclectic array of music and was an avid reader. Her eye for fashion, and quality, was iconic and highly admired. Her collection of denim, shoes, and boots reflected her flare for fashion and fearless nature. Flor was a talented, creative, and truly gifted person, who loved to bake, assemble puzzles, sew clothes and costumes, and make wreaths and crafts. Her sweet tooth was unmatched.  Her attention to detail, unrivaled.

Flor took the time to get to know people. She was a kind, educated, and intelligent woman who had respect for each individual and supported their creativity and uniqueness.  A true champion for the young, and young at heart. Her values were reflected through her acts of kindness and charity, and attention to individual interests, and needs. She took time to make people feel special, whether it was by baking their favorite cake, going for a walk together, having a night of food and conversation, or going to the movies.

Her greatest loves were her family members. Most importantly to Flor, her greatest joy and source of pride was her daughter Natalie. Even when living in different states, you couldn’t know one without the other. Their beautiful bond is powerful and eternal. No matter the distance, it has, and will endure, as she is ever-present.

Flor's advice, conversation, and generosity made those who knew her better people, and taught them what it means to be a true friend. She collected quotes and songs, that she would share. One quote that she kept close, and reflects the life she lived is:

“I’d made it this far and refused to give up because, all my life, I had always finished the race.” - Louis Zamperini
