Obituary of Robert William Carl

Robert W. Carl, of St Petersburg, FL died peacefully on February 20, 2024, with his family by his side. He was 92 years old.

Robert was born in Brighton, MA on July 7, 1931, and was raised and educated in Norwell, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Ethel and Lionel Carl.

Beloved husband of Rosanna Carl of St. Petersburg, FL. Loving father of Eric Carl of Sebring, Todd Carl, and Tonya Nicholson both of St. Petersburg, FL. Brother of William “Billy” Carl and his wife Julie of Port Charlotte, FL., And the late Herbert Carl, Leo Carl, Blanche J. Merritt, and Richard P. Carl. Cherished grandfather of Jessica Mills and Jenna Nicholson, great-grandfather of 7 great-grandchildren and godfather to Barbara Foulsham. Robert was also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Robert’s career evolved around technology with television and Telephone companies, with this technological knowledge he taught himself how to repair verses replacing numerous items. His motto was “I can fix anything”. Robert always enjoyed holidays and meals with family and good friends, he especially enjoyed Rosanna’s cooking. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing with his brothers, golfing and traveling with his wife Rosanna. Most of all Robert loved his family who were the cornerstone of his life. Robert was a proud Army Veteran; he served his country during the Korean War. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known and loved him.

Robert was very fond of children and always enjoyed their laughter. Because of this, in lieu of flowers we ask for donations to St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital @ https://www.stjude.org in his name with the hope for St. Jude’s children can share the same laughter.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday March 2nd at 1:00 PM in the Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 9th Street and 22nd Avenue N., St. Petersburg.
