It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend, Carlos Alberto Vargas Lucena. Carlos departed this world on February 27th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering love.

Born on October 18th,1949, Carlos was a beacon of light in the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. His infectious laughter, genuine smile, and compassionate spirit touched the hearts of everyone he encountered. Carlos was a devoted son to Pedro & Clementina, a caring brother to Ayceth, Pedro, Carolina, Marcos y Zaely, a cherished husband to Zuni, Papi to Carlos "A" and Veronica, and a devoted grandfather to Daniela, Carson, Christian, Isabella and Colin.

Carlos's profound love and commitment to Zuni were a testament to the strength of their bond. Their love story was a source of inspiration, and Carlos's unwavering support and dedication created a foundation that withstood the test of time. He exemplified the true meaning of partnership, demonstrating that love and devotion can overcome any challenge.

As a father, Carlos poured his heart and soul into the lives of his children. His love was an unyielding force, guiding them through life's challenges and celebrating their triumphs. Carlos' commitment to his children was not just a duty but a joy, and he took immense pride in watching them grow into the remarkable individuals they are today. His legacy as a father is one of unconditional love, guidance, and support.

As a grandfather, Carlos found immeasurable joy in the presence of his grandchildren. His eyes lit up with pride and warmth whenever he spoke of them. He took great pleasure in sharing stories, imparting wisdom, and creating lasting memories with the youngest members of the family. His dedication to his grandchildren was a reflection of the deep love and commitment he held for family bonds.

Carlos was not only a family man but also a loyal friend. His generosity knew no bounds, and he was always there to lend a helping hand or offer a comforting word. His passion for life and love for others created a ripple effect, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of sharing in his journey.

Carlos Alberto, a distinguished veterinarian, specialized in livestock genetics, revolutionizing the field with his profound expertise. As a revered professor at both UCLA of Venezuela and UF, he left an indelible mark by establishing the groundbreaking master's program in veterinary science at UCLA, shaping the next generation of experts in the intricate realm of livestock genetics. His dedication, hard work, and innovative spirit earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and students alike. His legacy in the professional world is one of diligence, integrity, and a commitment to excellence.

Outside of work, Carlos had a zest for life that was truly contagious. He enjoyed music, jazz, golf, chess, Real Madrid, the Gators and to goof off, and his enthusiasm for these pursuits was palpable. Whether it was exploring new places, savoring good food, or simply enjoying the company of loved ones, Carlos embraced every moment with joy and gratitude.

Carlos Alberto Vargas will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. While the pain of his absence is profound, we find solace in the memories we shared and the impact he made during his time with us.
