Obituary of Orville A Zender

Orville “Joe” Zender passed peacefully on February 9, 2024 and went to be with the Lord at the age of 85. Joe was born August 28, 1938 to Earl and Hazel Zender in Fostoria Ohio. He was married to Marleen Zender for 50 years until she passed April 17,2017.  They now are eternally together in paradise.
Joe proudly served in the U.S. Army after graduating from high school. He enjoyed the time he served, making new friends and discovering new places. He then went on to become  a supervisor of a sheetmetal
department for Baxter Corporation until he retired in 1998. He was a hard worker and did not like retirement, so he went back to work shortly after as a security guard. He and Marleen were very involved in church as youth group leaders, and many other church activities.
Joe is Preceded in death by his parents Earl and Hazel Zender, his brothers, Arthur, Earl  Jr, and his sister Carolyn Mcgough.
Joe is survived by his daughters Bobbi Rice and Rebecca Zender; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grand children. His last brother Kenneth Zender and his last sister Ruth Goggans from Ohio.
Joe will be remembered for his strong Christian and family values. He was a doting husband and a loving, caring, father, grandfather, and a friend to all. He loved to stay busy and have projects to work on. He was a jokester and enjoyed being a kid at heart. He would say something like “how many people do you think are dead in this obituary column?” … “all of them”! His days were spent working on a project, or spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all that knew him. Service will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 1:00pm.
