JOHNSON, Donald A., ''Don,'' 84, died Friday, April 7, 2000, at Golfview Nursing Home, St. Petersburg. Born in Elmira, New York, he came here in 1955 from Syracuse, New York. He owned and operated his own hardwood floor installation company in New York for ten years. A graduate of North Syracuse High School, he enlisted in the US Army after the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941, and later was stationed in the Philippines and Guadalcanal. Locally, he attended Garden City Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Katherine B.; four daughters: Eleanor Lilly, St. Petersburg, Donna Hall, Harriman, TN, Gladys Hobbs, Pinellas Park, and Kathy Fox, Lakeland; two sons: Phillip Ferguson, St. Petersburg, and Owen Ferguson, Guyton, GA; a brother, Abel Johnson, St. Petersburg; a sister, Mildred Caughey, Syracuse, NY; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
