Obituary of Lois Libby Parrott

Parrott, Lois Libby, 74, died May 27, 2000 at St. Anthony's Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Portland, Maine on October 17, 1925. She was the daughter of Carl and Katherine Libby. Her mother died when Lois was a young child. She was raised by her father and stepmother Mary Elizabeth Vaughan. She graduated from Westbrook High School, class of 1944. She married Norman Harvey Parrott in Portland, Maine on Sept. 9, 1948. They moved to Garden City, NY where they lived for 16 years before returning to Maine. She was active in Christian Education and Youth Groups. She was a homemaker and when her children were grown she worked at the Cumberland County Civic Center for 12 years as a Night Receptionist. In 1986, she started spending winters in St. Petersburg, FL and summers at Sebago Lake, ME. Her interests included traveling and she was active in local theater groups and was a long time member of the Garden City, New York Little Theater Group. Her husband died on February 15, 1986. Survivors include two 2 sons: Norman of South Portland, ME and Bruce of Portland, ME; a daughter: Leslie Dempsey of Falmouth, ME; a cousin: Phyllis DeSalvo - Merrimack, NH; and seven 7 grandchildren.
