Obituary of Melvin A. Mel'' Swartz

Swartz, Melvin A. ?Mel?, 73, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday January 25, 2001 at Hospice House Woodside. Born in Olean, New York, he was a winter resident prior to 1998 when he moved here permanently. He was a retired schoolteacher with the Rochester City School District. He was an Air Force Veteran of WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, having served for 20 years. He was a lifetime member of Masons and VFW. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Adele Swartz, 2 sons, Peter M. Swartz of Palm Harbor, Florida and Timothy Swartz of Columbia, Maryland, 2 daughters, Ava Swartz of New York, New York and Lily Swartz of Kenmore, New York, a stepson, Louis Assenato of South Pasadena, Florida, a stepdaughter, Kathryn Rice of Dunedin, Florida, 2 sisters, Marjorie Ruffino of Kenmore, New York and Marion DeCarlo of Lockport, New York, and 2 grandsons, Peter Swartz, Jr. and Aaron Swartz, both of Palm Harbor, Florida.
